Glenn DIG's voice soars just like the morning sun he sings about on this number. And his impeccable fingerstyle guitar blends brilliantly with the orchestral themes. You can close your eyes and see the song.

See the ground, miles down below Mountain tops lightly filled with snow, You always told me not to fly so high, But were you simply terrified to touch the sky, I wonder why, I’ll flap my wings in a hurricane of everlasting love, And I’ll learn to fly in the morning sky, as the sun shines high above, You’re always trying to stop me, just because you hate to fly, I see you there, high up in the air, Floating up, without a single care, I see the wind has shifted and your coming down, I’m hurrying to catch you before you hit the ground, don’t make a sound I’ll flap my wings in a hurricane of everlasting love, And keep you safe in a special place a thousand miles above, You’re always there to catch me, even though you hate to fly, I’ll flap my wings...

about

After the release of "X" Dig formed a three piece group "Rusted Shovel" and begin doing live shows. Eventually, the competitive nature of the Albuquerque Music Scene put a strain on things; both from outside the group and from within. Dig would eventually get frustrated and disband the group.

Despite the failure of Rusted Shovel, the limited gigs had given Dig exposure. “X” began to sell and get plays on Spotify and Apple Music. He was even featured on The Roots of Indie, podcast. However, in terms of songwriting, Dig had taken a hiatus. The amount of creativity poured into “X” had drained him of his well of creativity and exhausted his backlog of songs. It wasn’t until May of 2019, that Dig began to write again.

He began working on a new song, His lyrics, simple sad yet filled with hope and love, painted an Icarus-like tale of a young fledgling, new to flight and an older aviator weary from the weather of the world. Two kinds of love are expressed in the song, one youthful and optimistic with a zest and passion for the world around, the other nurturing protective and concerned. The piece consists of Dig’s trademark fingerstyle guitar, this time backed with the orchestral arrangements of something out of a Nick Drake tune. The english horns and gentle string sounds paint imagery of a warm early morning. In many ways, "Morning Flight" could be the conclusion of the great musical odyssey Dig had been on for the past four years. But the ending of that chapter would start the beginning of another.
